Music and Lyrics by Cole Porter
Based on the book by P.G. Wodehouse & Guy Bolton
Cole Porter’s timeless classic Anything Goes is the first production
for EMS since their change of name from Exeter Amateur Operatic
Society.
The story concerns madcap antics aboard an ocean liner bound from New
York to London. Billy Crocker is a stowaway in love with heiress Hope
Harcourt, who is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Nightclub singer
Reno Sweeney and Public Enemy #13 Moonface Martin aid Billy in his
quest to win Hope.
This energetic show includes famous songs such as “I get a kick out of
you”, “You’re the top”, “Friendship”, “Its de-lovely” and of course
“Anything Goes”.
